I’ve Never Used a Bail Bond Before, How Do They Work?

A bail bond is a term for either property or money that is used to secure release from incarceration based on the bond amount set by the Judge. When an individual is charged with a crime, whether it be in Crawfordville, Florida, Tallahassee, or any other area in the United States, the Judge will ordinarily determine the price of a bond. This is how much it will cost to get the defendant out of jail while court proceedings take place.

Bonds can get to be very expensive and often this is where a bail bondsman comes into play. Typically, if an individual is unable to pay for a bond in its entirety, they will reach out to a bondsman. The defendant will then either offer collateral or pay a predetermined amount, often 10%, of the total bond to the bondsman. This is a nonrefundable fee and the bondsman will then pay the bond in its entirety.

If you or a loved one has been arrested in Leon County, Tallahassee, Crawfordville, or any of the surrounding areas in Florida, please contact Harrison Bail Bonds ASAP to ensure the prompt release of the defendant.
